Oktoberfest in the Gold Country
Jackson Oktoberfest was founded by Wolfgang's Pretzels of Pioneer, California in 2012. Wolfgang wanted to share his German heritage with the community, while raising some money for local charities.
This year, the event will be held at the Italian Picnic Grounds in Sutter Creek, which we have aptly dubbed "Oktoberfest Picnic Grounds" for the day, so there's plenty of room for everyone!
Oktoberfest promises fun for the entire family, including live entertainment, contests, music and dancing, and an authentic taste of Bavaria with Wolfgang's own soft pretzels, and of course, the mainstay of any Oktoberfest...German beer!
TSPN TV interview on "Mondays with Monique" (2013):

Oktoberfest will be showcasing authentic oompah, polka, and waltzing music and Bavarian Country & Folklore dances. So put on your dancing shoes and brush up on your “Chicken Dance”!

In keeping with authentic Oktoberfest tradition, the food selection will include Bratwurst & Sauerkraut, Porkchops & Sauerkraut, Wolfgang's authentic Bavarian Soft Pretzels, apple strudel, and apple rings!
Completing the authenticity of Oktoberfest is delectible German beer! We'll also have wine, soft drinks and water available.
Part of the excitement of Oktoberfest is the tradition of its contests. We'll have plenty of prizes, so try your hand at Keg Rolling, Yodeling, Bratwurst Throwing, or see how many mugs you can hold in one hand! Fun for men, women, and children, so don your lederhosen or dirndl, and join in the fun!
THE HISTORY OF OKTOBERFEST
Oktoberfest in Munich, or "October Festival", was initially a celebration of Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen's wedding which was held on 12 October 1810. It is a 16 day festival which usually takes place in the middle of September and ends the first week in October.
Over the years, this festival has become one of the most important in the world with around 6 million people attending the celebrations in Munich each year, and other festivals held in other cities worldwide. learn more
